Answers to questions now available

As promised we are providing suggested answers on this website to the questions in the AS book . You will find the answers to questions from chapters 1 and 2 in the Book Resources section of this website (click on the appropriate chapter).  Other answers coming soon!

In some places there are no answers – for example at the end of chapter 1 one of the suggested activities is to constuct a mind map of the chapter. We haven’t drawn one ourselves but would be pleased to see any student efforts – there might even be a small prize in it. Send you efforts to psychcompanion@folensblogs.com

Also, do let us know if you spot any mistakes, or have any suggestions for better answers. We are always pleased to make corrections.

Hi – I found the ‘answers’ to chapters very helpful and students used them for self assessment. I am beginning the chapter on stress this week. Will ‘answers’ be posted for that chapter. Many thanks.

  2. Hi Becky

I’m glad someone is using them! I confess to having put the work to one side and your email is the kick I need to start going again. I will get working on them! Meanwhile – did any of your students produce mind maps we could post on the site. would love to get some more interaction from students.

The answers are great, any amswers available for the A2 chapters or am I not looking in the right place?

  4. We are not producing answers for the A2 book (despite an erroneous statement on the book’s back cover). The reason is that A2 answers are much more open-ended. The questions were set to help students break their essays down into do-able chunks drawing on the spread. It would somehow defeat the purpose to give them ‘an answer’. It would also be a mammoth to write the answers! But, really most importantly, I don’t think it would be helpful for most students. There will be an A2 exam companion (one day) which will provide some answers.
